Bob Costas

Bob Costas (1952 -        ) 

 

Recognized as one of the leading American Sportscasters, Bob Costas has hosted the Olympic games for NBC Sports, beginning in 1992 at Barcelona.  Bob broke the major story about some of the Chinese athletes using drugs in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics.  In 2017, he said he was beginning the process of stepping down as lead reporter for the Olympics.

 

Earlier in his career he covered most all of the major sports on the air.  These include hockey, basketball, baseball, boxing, golf and football where he called the games and offered opinions!  Over his career, Costas has won eight National Sportcaster of the Year awards and appeared in much pop culture from movies to television guest spots to announcing the plays in a video game.
