Readon was a great defensive player who played for the Montreal Canadiens. His professional career was put on hold during World War II when he served in the army and played for the Canadian army team.Upon returning he took up play again with Montreal and they won the Stanley Cup in 1946.
After retiring at the young age of 30, he stayed with the team in managerial positions and as Vice President. Under his tenure, the team won 5 Stanley Cups. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
