Ivan Lendl  (1960 -       )


Ivan Lendl was a professional tennis player from 1978 to 1994 and was a dominant player during the 1980's and early '90s.  He won 8 Grand Slam single titles and completed 19 finals, only to be passed by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. 


Born in Czechoslovakia, he became an American citizen in 1992.  Due to back pain his tennis career ended in 1994, but he then took up golf, reaching a handicap of 0 and achieving a win on the Celebrity Tour.   Much of his time now is spent managing his daughters' illustrious golf careers.
