Clyde Lovellette

Clyde Lovellette (1929 - )

 

Clyde Lovellette is best known for being the first basketball player in history to win the Triple Crown with championships in the NCAA, NBA, and Olympics.  His 1952 season was particularly special, as he led the University of Kansas team to an NCAA Championship followed that summer by a gold medal win at the Olympics in Finland.  Two years later in 1954, he won the first of his three NBA championships.
