nickname: "Yaz"

 

Yastrezemski spent his entire 23yr career with the  Boston Red Sox and enjoyed his best season in 1967, when he won the American League Triple Crown with a .326 batting average, 44 home runs (tied with Harmon Killebrew) and 121 RBIs. 

Yastrzemski proved worthy at the plate and as a great defensive player with a strong arm, expert in playing off the Green Monster, Fenway Park's left-field wall.  In 12 years as a left fielder, Yastrzemski won seven Gold Gloves and led in assists seven times.
