Austin held 19 championships throughout his wrestling career, with a six-time WWF Champion,a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a four-time WWF Tag Team Champion, and the fifith Triple Crown Champion in WWE history. He gained significant mainstream popularity as a disrespectful, beer-drinking antihero who routinely defied the establishment and his boss, company chairman Vince McMahon. After wrestling from 1989-2003, Austin was forced to retire due to serious knee and neck injuries. He has enjoyed a successful acting career ever since.
Angle, while a student at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, won numerous accolades, including a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. Flair is widely regarded as the greatest professional wrestler of all time and the best American performer of the 1980s. Beginning in mid-1970s, he used the moniker "The Nature Boy" and was the inaugural WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and the first person to complete WCW's Triple Crown. Flair was often popular with the crowd due to his in-ring antics, including rulebreaking (earning him the distinction of being "the dirtiest player in the game"), strutting and his shouting of "Wooooooo!" He is noted for his tenures with the National Wrestling Alliance, World Champaionship Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
Hogan was a popular and possibly "the most recognized" wrestling star worldwide between the mid 1980s to the early 1990s. Hogan is a twelve-time world champion: a six-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, but it was rescinded in 2015 due to a racial slur, previously made. In the 80's Hogan was the most requested celebrity for the Make-a-Wish Foundation children's charity. His stardom landed him cover stories on many magazines and appearances in several TV shows.
